We have been around for 7 years and have grown at a rapid pace over the years, pretty much doubling our turnover every year since we started out. Our typical clients tend to be large E-Commerce sellers. We already have some awesome team members based in the Philippines (some worked with us for 4 years + full time) and are looking to expand our Philippines team significantly as so far our Philippines based team members have been amazing.

What’s the Role?
If the idea of a location independent job, travelling different countries, working from beautiful locations, meeting diverse people sounds a bit more fun than working in cubicle, this may be a job worth considering. If working in a country that’s been the fastest growing economy on the planet for nearly 3 decades sounds exciting, then perhaps this is a job worth considering.
While we have grown rapidly in the last 5 years, we are still small enough to be considered a start-up (with about 12 people on our team currently) & we are constantly exploring and finding the best ways to do things and optimize our systems and processes. Therefore, you will constantly find yourself doing new things and facing new challenges in this role, so if you like to work within the confines of a Job Description, then this is definitely the wrong position for you.
You will be working directly with Me (Ash Monga) in this role & I would absolutely love for you to be a major player in taking the business forward and being vocal about your ideas and feedback for the company’s marketing strategy.
Mission:
The mission for the marketing manager would be to create and oversee our marketing strategy and be responsible for developing marketing materials including literature, content for our websites, blog & social media properties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating & editing content for the Blog & managing the Content calendar.
- Growing the blog subscriber base for TheSourcingBlog.
- Developing inbound lead generation strategy for ISS and TSB.
- Creating new “Revenue streams” for the business, especially through “Digital Products”.
- Testing all our content, conversions, and providing results in data format so smart conversion decisions can be taken.
- Reaching out to and on-boarding external content writers.
- Finding trade exhibitions for us to attend and making the marketing strategies for those exhibitions.
- Finding and working with Digital Marketing vendors specialising in different marketing areas.
- Creating and refining sales funnels and buyer personas.
- Managing our Social Media accounts, including creating content and managing the publishing schedule.
- Writing & refining literature about the various services we have.
- Contacting & building relationships with related businesses for guests posts and other mutually beneficial opportunities.
- Finding, shortlisting & selecting third party vendors to whom we can outsource some of the marketing requirements for e.g. SEO.
- Competitor research and tracking.
- Any other marketing related tasks.
As you grow into the role, you will be able to manage 1 or more virtual assistants based in South-East Asia to support you in your day to day activities.
This position offers an Exciting opportunity to travel & work in & around Asia. You will have a 3 month probation period working remotely from your present location (unless you are already based in China). This is an opportunity for you to figure out if the job is exciting enough for you and for us to ensure there is a fit.
Once the probation is passed, you will be working in our Guangzhou office for 12 months so you can really understand the business inside-out and get to know the team. After that this can be a location independent position and you are free to work from anywhere in Asia (Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, India are some of the choices) as long as you are within a 3 Hour time zone difference from our China office) and able to be with us for trade fairs etc. However, please note that this we are looking for someone to work with us long-term and not just 12 months.
There will also be opportunities to travel from time to time to trade shows or one of our exciting retreats where you will be meeting & working with some very exciting & successful entrepreneurs.
REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum 1yr experience of working virtually.
- Experience sourcing products on sites like Alibaba, Global-Sources or related experience related to international trade/Amazon would be a huge bonus.
- Good online research skills
- Good spoken and written English
- High degree of attention to detail
- Technology Orientation: We are a company that relies heavily on using “technology” to get things done faster & better. Therefore, we are keen on hiring people who enjoy learning the use of new software & technology and are able to pick-up new tools quickly.
