Job Location: NO. 2 HuaQiang Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou.
MISSION:
In this position, you will be a key player in the sourcing team and help source products in various industries to attain the best value for the clients, i.e. the best combination of price & defined quality standard. This is a client facing role, so you will also be communicating with the clients.
GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES:
A sourcing specialist can progress to become Senior Sourcing Specialist & then Sourcing Manager. Sourcing specialists, depending on their experience & performance, may also get to manage 1 or more Merchandisers to help them with their day to day work.
Note: A merchandiser can go on to become a Sourcing Specialist if they showcase the right skillset for the role. So if you currently have limited sourcing experience sourcing products across industries, you may with to apply for a Merchandiser role instead.
RENUMERATION:
What makes the Sourcing Specialist Role UNIQUE at IMEX is that it also has a “results-based” profit share program, where the company shares a part of the profits with the Sourcing Specialist for each order they manage. You get access to the profit-share system from the first day. This is on top of a “basic salary” which is already in-line with industry standards. The longer you work in the company, the more clients and repeat orders you manage and the higher the profit share is over-time.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Gathering Requirements: Gathering & understanding sourcing requirements from our clients in the US, UK & other countries.
- Sourcing: Digging deep to source and shortlist the best factories and showing persistence in successfully finding the perfect suppliers for our clients who can offer the defined quality standard at the best possible price.
- Client Communication: Keeping the clients updated on the latest status of their productions through day to day emails and calls from time to time

Management: Training & managing the Merchandisers and taking responsibility for their performance and retention

Quality Control: Working with factories to ensure products meet quality standards set by the client & orders are delivered on time
- Working with the logistics companies to ensure timely delivery of goods.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 or more years of sourcing experience ideally sourcing products across industries.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Good spoken & written English language skills.

Some client-facing experience would be an advantage as in this role, you will be writing regular emails to native English speaking clients and may need to do calls from time to time too.

Ability to source products across industries, however if you have deep knowledge in one of the industries below that would be an advantage – Consumer Electronics, Home & Kitchen Products, Furniture, Sports & Outdoors.
